How to Stay Consistent with Any Habit You Start
We’ve all been there starting a new habit with excitement, only to fall off after a few days or weeks. The key to consistency isn’t motivation; it’s strategy. Here’s how to make habits stick:
Start Small – Instead of committing to an hour at the gym, start with 5 minutes. Small wins build momentum.
Make It Easy – Reduce friction. Keep your workout clothes ready, place a book near your bed, or set a reminder for meditation.
Anchor to an Existing Habit – Tie your new habit to something you already do, like meditating after brushing your teeth.
Track Progress – Use a habit tracker or a simple notebook to see your streak grow. Missing one day is okay, but don’t miss twice.
Focus on Identity – Instead of “I need to read,” tell yourself, “I am a reader.” Your habits should reinforce the person you want to become.
Consistency isn’t about being perfect it’s about showing up, even when you don’t feel like it. Take small, consistent steps, and your habits will stick for life!
